    Egyptian tourism ministry reports large turnout at the Milan Tourism Fair

    The Egyptian pavilion at the BIT Milan International Tourism Fair attracted a large number of international companies as well as Italian tour operators and travel trade professionals. This was announced in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt.

    Egyptian tourism ministry reports large turnout at the Milan Tourism FairIn the tourism fair, Amr Al-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB); Mohamed Farag, the Egyptian Tourist Office’s Tourism Attaché in Berlin, Germany; and the administrative and financial supervisor of the tourism offices in Russia, Italy and the affiliated supervisory countries held a number of important meetings with officials of major Italian tourism companies and tour operators. They discussed ways to increase tourist traffic from Italy to Egypt.

    Also, there were media meetings with a number of Italian and international news websites, magazines and newspapers specializing in tourism. CEO of the ETPB discussed Egypt’s characteristics and products as a travel destination. The media were briefed about the developments in the Egyptian tourism sector, the expected tourism and archaeological openings, and the efforts of the Egyptian state to develop and advance this sector.

    The minister also shed light on the precautionary preventive measures and health safety controls that are strictly enforced in the context of dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, as well as the measures taken by the ministry to develop tourist and hotel destinations and facilities, and to push the incoming movement to Egypt in general. Also discussed were joint marketing campaigns with tour operators and airlines.

    Representatives of Italian travel companies emphasized the interest and desire for Italians to visit Egypt, especially after the end of Italy’s closure policy following the COVID-19 crisis, reflecting the preference for Italians to visit many cities, including Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, Marsa Matrouh, Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and Nile cruises.
